- [Jennifer] Hey guys, Jenniferhere with the Family Fudge.
And today, I have a bunch of fun
lunch ideas to share with you.
Now, last week, we enjoyedlunches at Disneyland,
which was awesome.
But this week, the kidswent back to school,
and we are back to usingour awesome new lunch boxes.
Now, before we jump right in,
quite a few of you will probably notice
my voice sounds a little bit different,
and that's because rightafter we got back from Disney,
I had a cold.
I'm doing much better now,
but the voice is still a little bit raspy.
So, please bear with me this week.
And most importantly, none of the kids got sick.
And now, let's get onto these super fun
lunches from this week.
Hey guys, and welcome to meatless Monday.
Today, I'm gonna be testing out
these new puzzle-shaped cookie cutters.
I found them on Amazon,
and I can't wait to give them a try.
For the kid's sandwiches today,
I'm using a combination ofwhite bread and wheat bread.
I'm also using some creamy peanut butter
and something the kids don'tusually have, grape jelly.
So, I know it might seema little bit strange
using both wheat and white bread together,
but just hang on.
You'll totally get what I'm trying to do
in just a minute.
So, as you can see, I'm spreading out
my creamy peanut butter allover,
and I do have to be extra careful
with this white piece of bread
because it's already falling apart on me.
Now, I don't have anythingagainst grape jelly at all,
but usually we stick with strawberry.
I get the big jars from Costco,
so that's just what we use most often.
And now here comes the fun part,
time to test out this cookie cutter.
I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised.
It worked out pretty well.
Now, to make this extracute in the lunch boxes,
what I'm gonna do is swapout some of the pieces,
so each of the kids will end up
with some white breadand some wheat bread,
and it'll look really fun.
Now, to go along with this,
I also wanna throw in some cheese.
This is Babybel cheese inthe white cheddar flavor.
Of course my son, Jackson, will not be receiving one
because he's not a fan of Babybel cheese.
But for the girls, I'm definitelygonna dress up this cheese
just a little bit.
I'm taking a ministar-shaped cookie cutter,
and I'm gonna punch outa little bit of the wax.
You just have to be really gentle here
not to go all the way through the cheese.
And then all you have to dois remove that piece of wax.
And just like that, youhave a cute but easy way
to dress up the cheese.
Now, since there's agood amount of space left
around the sandwich, I'llgo ahead and fill that in
with some fresh blueberries.
And I'm gonna fit asmany as I can in here.
Next, I'm gonna add ahandful of baby carrots.
Now, as you can tell,
I'm still getting usedto these lunch boxes.
I really think the keyto making them look cool
is to just light up thefood as best as you can.
Now, since I've added carrots,
you guys probably know what's coming next.
That's right, the ranch.
And I have to say, I'mloving these yum boxes
because of this littlesection in the center.
It is perfect for dips and sauces,
and so far we haven't had any leaks.
Now, what to put in this back section?
I definitely think thislunch could use some cookies
or some crackers, something crunchy.
Let's go ahead and put some Bunny Grahams.
I know the kids love these,
and they haven't hadthem in quite a while.
These are basically an organicversion of Teddy Grahams.
This box has a combinationof chocolate chip,
chocolate, and honey flavor,
plus I think they're really cute
with the little bunny shape.
I'm just gonna add one scoop in here.
Now I think this islooking pretty good so far,
but I would like to add justa few little decorations
just for fun.
And I just got a fewnew ones in from Amazon,
including this cute little leaf picks.
These ones are from Japan,
and they are so cute.
You can basically add them to any
fruits or vegetables that you like.
I think these blueberrieswill fit perfectly on here
just like that.
Super cute and really easyto dress up this lunch.
Now to go along with this,
I'm also adding a bagof this Sailor's Loot.
Now this is just like Pirate Booty,
almost identical in fact.
And this bag is kind of big,
so I'll probably end up splitting it
between two or three of the kids.
I think this little sailorguy on here is so funny.
Now, last, I'm also throwingin a juice pouch today.
And since we went with grapejelly for the sandwich,
I thought grape juice would be perfect.
- [Lily] Lunch is over now,and here's what we ate.
- [Jennifer] Right nowI got Kenzie, Jackson,
and Lily with me.
Say hello.
- [Kids] Hello.
- [Jennifer] So, what dowe think of today's lunch?
- [Kenzie] I really liked everything.
- [Jennifer] Time to check Kenzie's.
Not too bad.
I see some blueberries left in there.
What's wrong with the blueberries?
- [Kenzie] Some of them are sour.
- [Jennifer] You guys.
What about Jackson's?
What do you think, Jackson?
- [Jackson] I really like the cookies,
but not that much the blueberry.
- [Jennifer] You guys.
Let's see if Lily ate her blueberries.
Aw.
Mostly.
What was your favorite part, guys?
- [Kenzie] My favorite was the cookies.
- [Jackson] My favoritewas the cookies, too.
- [Lily] My favorite wasthe cookies, the carrots,
and the sandwiches.
- [Jennifer] Yeah.
What do you think about the grape jelly?
- [Kenzie] I really liked them.
- [Jennifer] Could youtell it's different?
- [Jackson] Yes.
- [Lily] Different, different, different.
- [Jennifer] Okay.
I'm getting lots ofdifferent answers here.
Well, overall, do you give it a thumbs up?
- [Kids] Yes.
- [Jennifer] Awesome.
- [Lily] See you tomorrow.
Bye.
- [Jennifer] Hey guys, and happy Tuesday.
Now today is cold andrainy where we're at,
so I definitely wanna make ahot lunch for the kids today,
but I don't have a lot of time,
and I don't have any leftovers either,
so I'm gonna quickly heat up this pasta.
This is three cheese chicken pasta.
There's also broccoli, andcorn, and carrots in there,
in a creamy Alfredo sauce.
Hashtag not sponsored.
I just this would besomething that would be
really quick and easy.
It is fully cooked, so Ijust have to heat it up.
I'm not sure if the kids will like it.
We shall have to see.
Okay, guys, I have this heated through.
I have added the Alfredo sauce,
and I feel like it's missinga little something, something.
So, I'm gonna go aheadand put a spoonful or two
of this pesto I had that'sjust hanging out in my fridge.
So I think if I add this in here,
that it will definitely do the trick.
Hopefully the kids will eat it now.
I'm gonna cross my fingers on that one.
So, I'm gonna add this to the thermoses
and then move onto our fruit.
And surprise!
It's fresh mango.
My kids love, absolutely love mango,
and my store have these onsale for just a dollar each.
Now the trick to making this look cool
is to very, very careful score the mango
without going all theway through the skin.
Once you've done that,
you can very carefullykinda pop it inside out,
and then I'm just gonnaplace this entire piece
into the lunch box.
It looks really cool.
And when the kids want to eat,
all they have to do istake their little spoon
and scoop it out.
Now to go along with this,
I'm also gonna give thekids some of these crackers.
I love these butterfly-shaped crackers.
They are so cute.
So, I'm just gonna add a few in there.
And what goes better withcrackers than cheese?
Now, I know my girlswill love this cheese.
I'm not quite sure about Jackson.
This is the Creamy SwissLaughing Cow cheese,
but this is in a garlic and herb flavor
which they've never had before.
Let's see if I can get this open.
Sometimes these are tough to get open,
but you can see that thischeese come in little wedges.
And when the kids are readythey can just open it up
and spread it on their crackers
or eat it just like that.
Next, I'm gonna go aheadand add some celery.
I'm gonna fit as much as I can in there.
I really want the kids to eat
as much fruit and veggies as they can.
Followed by a couple of cherry tomatoes.
Some of my kids like tomatoesand some of them don't.
It really just depends onhow they're feeling, I think.
I'm gonna put them in hereanyway, and hope for the best.
But I do have a trick up my sleeve.
I'm gonna try these new really cute picks.
They look like little leaves,
and they're perfect forsticking into things
like grapes or cherry tomatoes.
You just stick them directly in,
and they just look so cute.
For this lunch, I'm gonna go ahead
and put some ranch on the side
for the kids to dip their celery in.
And then for the special treat today,
I have some new M&M's.
Have you guys seen these?
These ones are peanut M&M's with coconut,
and these other ones arepeanut with jalapenos.
Now, I tried the jalapeno ones,
and I definitely think mykids will not like them.
So, I'm gonna go ahead andput the coconut ones instead.
I'm just gonna put a few in here.
This little treat section is perfect
for just a couple of sweet treats.
Now to go along with this,
I'm also gonna throw ina fruit and grain bar.
These are new by Quaker Oats.
The kids have never had them before,
but they look delicious,
and they're made with prettygood ingredients, too.
And then the drink today,
the kids are just gonnatake their water bottles.
Now, I'm gonna go ahead andtake a picture of this lunch,
so I can get it on Instagram.
If you're not following us on Instagram,
I totally invite you to.
I share lots of fun pictures over there.
So go check us out onInstagram at the Family Fudge.
Okay, guys, times tosee how you did today.
What do you think, Jackson?
Should we start with you?
- [Jackson] Yeah.
- [Jennifer] Okay, whatwas your favorite part?
- [Jackson] My favoritepart was the mango.
- [Jennifer] Yeah, I cansee you ate all of it,
but you didn't like your cheese?
- [Jackson] No.
- [Jennifer] Did youthink it was gonna be like
a Babybel cheese?
- Yeah.- Similar.
What do you think of your pasta?
I still see some left in there.
- [Jackson] Kinda liked it.
- [Jennifer] Kinda liked it.
Okay, who's next?
- [Kenzie] Me.
- [Jennifer] Okay, Kenzie, how did you do today?
- [Kenzie] I really likethe cream cheese, crackers.
- [Jennifer] But not your tomatoes?
- [Kenzie] No.
- [Jennifer] What was your favorite part?
- [Kenzie] My favorite part
was the cream cheese and crackers?
- [Jennifer] Did I just ask you that?
- [Kenzie] Yes, you did.
- [Jennifer] Gosh, you guys.
Alright, Lily, let's see how you did.
- [Lily] I really liked the rangoes.
- [Jennifer] The what?
- [Lily] The mangoes.
- [Jennifer] The mangoes?
- [Lily] Mm-hmm.
- [Jennifer] What did youthink of your noodles?
Oh, I still some in there.
You guys didn't really like that, huh.
- [Kenzie] No.
Well, at least it was easy.
I probably wouldn't pack that again.
- [Lily] Yeah, I just like plain noodles.
- [Jennifer] Just plain noodles, okay.
I almost forgot to askyou about the M&M's.
What'd you think?
- [Kenzie] I really liked them.
- [Jennifer] But who tried these ones?
- [Kenzie] Baby.
- [Jennifer] Griffin tried these ones?
Anybody else?
- [Kids] No.
- [Jennifer] Griffin did not like this?
Do you guys wanna try this right now?
- Yeah.- No.
- [Jennifer] You do, Jackson?
- [Jackson] Yeah, what are they?
- [Jennifer] It's a jalapeno M&M.
It's spicy.
You gotta put the wholething in your mouth.
Did you spit it out, Jackson?
Yeah.
No.
Yeah, these are not very good.
I even like spicy food,and I don't like them.
- [Jackson] We'll see you tomorrow.
- [Jennifer] Hey guys, and welcome to Wednesday.
Now it's still cold and rainy here today,
so another hot lunch it is.
I'm gonna use some of these Frito bag,
and I'm also using thischicken chili with beans
from Trader Joe's.
If you've never had this before,
it's actually really good.
So, I'm heating up thischili till it's nice and hot,
and then I'm gonna getit into the thermoses.
And now comes the fun part.
For this lunch, the kids getto make their own Frito boats.
If you've never heard of a Frito boat,
it's a lot like the walking tacos
I made a few weeks ago in a lunch.
This is basically the same idea.
But instead of using tacomeat, I'm using chili.
And instead of using Doritos,I'm using Fritos corn chips.
So, traditionally, a Frito boatwill also have some cheese,
so I'm gonna add a little bitof Mexican shredded cheese
directly into the centersection of the lunch box.
This is the perfect amount of cheese.
We just need a little bit.
Another popular Frito boattopping is sour cream.
So I went ahead and put just a little bit
in this little squeezie bottle.
And what's extra fun about this lunch
is that the kids get tobuild these themselves.
So, when they're ready to have lunch,
they can just take their little chip bag
and open it up.
They'll add a little bit ofthe meat, some of the cheese.
They're gonna add thisdirectly into the bag,
and then they can actuallyeat directly from the bag
and use it as their bowl.
Let me know in the comments down below
if you've ever triedsomething like this before.
I'm gonna add these sourcream container right in here,
and then move onto our veggie.
I feel like it's been awhile
since the kids had sugar snap peas,
so I'm gonna put a handful right in here.
Of course, I'm not gonna forget the ranch.
I know Ms. Lily will not eat these
sugar snap peas without the ranch.
And then for their fruit today,
I'm actually gonna go with a fruit pouch
which actually has some hiddenveggies in there as well.
These pouches have acombination of apple sauce,
peach sauce, and carrots.
But really, the kids just taste the fruit.
And then last, I have a very, very special treat today.
These are sugar cookies from Target.
Now, I was super surprisedto see these at Target,
and they also had othershapes as well, like flowers.
They had an Easter Bunny.
They even had a leprechaun.
So, for this lunch, I justwent with a Target dog
and a Target bullseye.
So, I'm just gonna add thelittle cookie in there,
and that's it.
I think this is so cute.
Okay, guys, did you like today's lunch?
- [Kids] Yeah.
- [Jennifer] What did you think, Kenzie?
What was your favorite part?
- [Kenzie] My favorite part
was the Frito boat, whatever it was called.
- [Jennifer] Fritoboat, you ate all of it?
- Mm-hmm.- Good job.
I see a little bit of cookie left.
That was a big cookie, huh.
I ended up breaking it in half
and giving half to eachkid, so I still have...
I still have one whole cookie.
Because that was a really big cookie, huh.
Okay, what about you, Jackson?
- [Jackson] I really like the Frito boat.
- [Jennifer] Ate all of yours?
You still have a littlebit of cookie left?
Yeah, a lot of sugarsnap peas, that's okay.
I actually tried these,
and they're a little bitmore bitter than I like.
Not very sweet at all.
And what about you, Lily?
What did you like?
- [Lily] I kinda like stuff.
- [Jennifer] You kinda like stuff.
I did end up finding quitea bit of this left over,
but that's okay.
I went ahead and dumped it,
because it's not good anymore.
But what was your favorite part?
- [Lily] I want the chili, but it was a little bit messy.
- [Jennifer] You're eating the rest
of your cookie right now?
- [Lily] Mm-hmm.
- [Jennifer] Your mouth is full.
Okay, guys, which do you like better,
Frito boats or walking tacos?
Which is better?
- [Kenzie] I like Frito boats better.
- [Jennifer] Rememberwalking tacos has the Doritos
and the lettuce.
- [Jackson] I like both.
- [Jennifer] You likeboth, what about you?
- [Lily] Walking tacos.
- [Jennifer] Walking tacos.
- [Kids] And we'll see you tomorrow.
- [Jennifer] Hey guys, and happy Thursday.
For today's lunch, I'mgonna start by making
some of these Brazi Bites.
If you've never had thembefore, they are delicious.
They're a gluten-free cheese bread.
And these ones are in athree cheese pizza flavor,
so I know the kids will love them.
So these are really easy.
All you have to do is bake them up.
They take about 20 minutes,
and they are best served hot,
but they don't have to be.
They're totally good for a lunch.
And while those are in the oven,
I'm gonna slice up some cucumber.
I went ahead and used mycrisscross cutter just for fun.
And now that the Brazi Bites are done,
I'll go ahead and getthose into the lunch box.
I think about six to nine
is probably a good amount for the kids.
And then I'm definitelygonna take the opportunity to
add a few decorations in here.
I love these googly eye picks.
They are so fun, and Ihave quite a lot of it.
So, I'm gonna add a few in each lunch box.
For the fruit today, I'm gonnaadd some whole strawberries.
And in each lunch box,
I'm also gonna add a special new pick.
I went ahead and cut thetop off of the strawberry,
and I'm gonna stick thisreally cute leaf pick
right in the top.
I just have a few of these.
I'm just gonna put acouple in each lunch box.
Next, I'm gonna add in afew slices of cucumber.
I'm adding some ranchin a separate container.
And then to go along with this,
something I know thekids are going to love.
For this, I'm gonna use alittle bit of vanilla yogurt,
some frozen mixed berries.
This is a combination ofstrawberries, blueberries,
blackberries, and raspberries.
I'm using frozen becauseit's really easy to do that,
but you could also use fresh.
And then I'm also usingsome of this delicious
strawberry vanilla granola.
Now I'm basically going to bebuilding some parfaits here.
And I love using theseplastic bowl containers
for just this.
They're perfect for throwing into lunches.
They have a nice leak-proof lid.
And I use these a lotfor things like smoothies
and overnight oats.
They're perfect.
To the bottom, I'm gonna go ahead and add
a scoop of the frozen berries.
By the time the kids east these,
the berries will be totallydefrosted and delicious.
Next, I'm adding a goodamount of the vanilla yogurt.
Yum, this is looking good already.
And then I'm gonna top it off
with a scoop of the strawberry granola.
Now there is one section ofthis lunch box that's empty,
so I'm gonna go ahead and fill it
with these Sunmaid sourwatermelon raisins,
because they've never had these before,
but I think that they sound interesting.
So, I'm gonna go ahead and put
maybe just a handful inthis little treat section
of our lunch box, and thekids can give them a try.
And then for the drink today,
the kids can either take water
or they can also choose apple juice.
(faintly speaking)
Okay, guys, area you readyto check your lunches?
- [Kids] Yeah.
- [Jennifer] Looking pretty good.
Did you guys all likethe little cheese bread?
- [Kids] Yeah.
- [Jennifer] What did you think, Lily?
- [Lily] My favorite was the sun raisins,
the yogurt, and the cheese balls.
- [Jennifer] Yeah, you all did really good
on your little yogurt granola fruit cups.
What about you, Jackson?
- [Jackson] I really likethe granola fruit cup thing.
I really like all theeyes in the cheese ball.
- [Jennifer] What wasyour favorite, Kenzie?
- [Kenzie] My favorite was the yogurt.
- [Jennifer] What'd you guysthink of the sour raisins?
Thumbs up or thumbs down?
- [Lily] Thumbs up.
- [Kenzie] Thumbs to the side.
- [Jackson] Thumbs down.
- [Jennifer] Okay, mixedreviews on the raisins.
- [Kenzie] We'll see you tomorrow.
- [Jennifer] Hey guys, and happy Friday.
Now, if you haven't already noticed,
I love doing breakfastfor lunch on Fridays,
and today is no exception.
I wanna go ahead and give the kids
these mini stuffed pancakes.
These are totally new, they've never had them before,
and it's basically a blueberry pancake
filled with fresh lemon cream.
Doesn't that sound delicious?
I'm gonna go ahead and addtwo pancakes to each lunch,
followed by a good amount of celery.
Now, of course, whatgoes better with celery
than some peanut butter?
So, I'm adding just a spoonful
to the center section of our lunch box.
When the kids are ready, they can dip their celery
directly into the peanut butter.
To go along with that,I'm also adding a Cutie.
Now I did go ahead and peel it,
just to make it easierfor the little kids.
And just to make this extra fun
and because I have it on hand,
I'm gonna go ahead and add
a little strawberryright down in the center.
Now, normally, I wouldadd yogurt or cheese.
But instead, for today's lunch,I'm adding cottage cheese.
My kids used to eat this all the time,
but they kinda got tired of it,
so they haven't seen for a while.
So I'm totally bringing it back today.
And ten to go along withour sort of breakfast theme,
of course I wanna add someeggs to today's lunch.
And I'm pretty excitedabout these eggs because
I just got a bunch of newegg molds off of Amazon.
Now sometimes these turn outand sometimes they don't.
You just never know.
I do like to go ahead andmake these the night before
and then get them into the molds.
This one is a bunny, andit turned out pretty good.
Not too bad.
Then we have the car.
This egg was way too big for this mold,
so it didn't really work out very well.
Then we have the bear.
This egg was definitely too small.
He didn't get any ears at all.
Next, I have a different bunny shape.
I think this bunny turned outbetter than the first one.
Next, I have a fish,
and this does not look like a fish at all.
Next, I'm gonna open upthe flower-shaped one.
Let's see how that one turned out.
That one turned out okay, not too bad.
Next up is the heart shape.
That one turned out pretty good.
And then last, the star.
And that one turned out pretty good, too.
Now, since this is McKenzie's lunch
that I'm working on right now,
I'll go ahead and addthe bunny-shaped egg.
I know she's gonna love it.
I'm gonna fill this inwith a few more carrots.
And then just for fun, I'll a few of these
panda decorations directlyinto our little pancake balls.
For our drink today, I'llgo ahead and just add
a low-fat milk.
Now this is everything Iwas planning on putting
in today's lunch,
but I think I need one more thing.
Maybe a special treat.
I'm gonna go ahead and addthese Mini Churro Dippers.
Now, I had plan to takethese with us to Disneyland,
since churros are sopopular but expensive there.
But I forgot to bring them,
so I'll go ahead and givethem to the kids today.
I think they're gonna love them.
Okay, guys.
Should we check and see how you did today?
- [Kids] Uh-huh.
- [Jennifer] Let's start with Lily first.
What'd you think of today's lunch, Lily?
What was your favorite part?
- [Lily] My favorite part was the muffin
and the cottage cheese.
- [Jennifer] And what about Jackson?
What was your favorite part?
- [Jackson] My favoritepart was the cottage cheese.
- [Jennifer] Do you like your little
pancake bites, Kenzie?
- [Kenzie] Not that much, but--
- [Jackson] You didn'teat very much at all.
Were you full?
- [Kenzie] Yeah.
- [Jennifer] What was your favorite part?
- [Kenzie] My favorite partwas the Churro Dippers.
- [Jennifer] Oh yeah, the Churro Dippers.
I got to try them,
and I thought they werea little bit weird.
Kinda like really thick chocolate pudding.
But the churros themselveswere really good.
- [Lily] I didn't like those either.
- [Jennifer] You didn't like those?
What about you, Jack?
- [Jackson] I really like the churros,
but not so much the chocolate.
- [Jennifer] Yeah, thechocolate was kinda weird.
- [Kids] We'll see you next week.
- [Lily] Make sure you come back tomorrow
for Mystery Lunches.
